I had some problem similar to this with the nividia dnls so I quit using them completely and removed the update. I don't know if the power going off had anything to do with corrupting the drive, but it's only 2 days old, so I'm sending it back for exchange.Hope this helps.Frank That should get Safe Mode cooking for you. Sorry, there was a problem flagging this post. Vista isn't even offering to freeze, and I bet I don't have the black screen issue when I reboot either. having the exact error can help. Is there anything I can do to get my machine up and running?

Got Feedback? Then I manually updated a few drivers, including sound and video, and I was finally able to do MS updates successfully! I restarted the computer and it seemed normal.
