i might suggest you try that and see how things go. I installed an epson scanner yesterday, not sure if this would affect anything but i un-installed all of its components/associated programs and this did not seem to help anything. This can be alleviated by making sure that when you rip or download music that you do not check for permissions.

I have repeatedly pointed media center at the directory and instructed it to find my music files but it has not found one. I ripped all my music cds and placed them in the my music folder. Click on OK and it will automatically start searching for those files again. They were all still on my computer, though.
