Windows Explorer Strange Behavior

Ya still can't search libraries but it doesn't try and tells u it can't find the search path though it does show the libraries. I still dont get how this got released and out of beta stage because people have been complaining about this for over a year. Network & Sharing Strange behaviour of Optical DriveThis is strictly not a Windows 8 problem but a hardware problem. The system returned: (22) Invalid argument The remote host or network may be down.

This behaviour makes me so angry, i think i should give Windows 7 at all review sites like [email protected] 1 star and tell ppl that a productive work is not possible I guess I will have to test all the rest of the issues I found to see how many they actually did something about.... I'm guessing there's a >= (greater than or equal to) comparison operation in the code somewhere where there should be > (strictly greater than). The workaround to this is to avoid double

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. Sunday, December 13, 2009 11:39 PM 1 Sign in to vote I have this strange folder pane issue too. HA, WHAT AFANTASTIC IDEA TO NAME AN APPLICATION!!! That goes a little deeper than the computer knowledge and experience I have.

But I am trying my luck for a solution because there might be others who have had the same problem and therefore know how to overcome it. Friday, August 14, 2009 5:57 PM 2 Sign in to vote . . . The only two errors I got today were: The server {995C996E-D918-4A8C-A302-45719A6F4EA7} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout. If I open a folder, I want to see what's inside (sub folders) and not what's outside.

No more Favorites poop poop. Someone told me to look at the Raw Read Error Rate and the Ultra DMA CRC Error Rate on my drives. Nothing else is going on at the time, I'm not pressing any keys or plugging anything in. Maybe that is job security at MS - producing service packs. when stuff stops working they call you.

the only reason I'm here on this forum is cause I've been searching for bout 3 hours trying to find a solution to the the problem with expanding a folder in Tuesday, October 13, 2009 9:14 PM 4 Sign in to vote Does Microsoft aware of this bug? Don't know what the drive errors are about. see here A few days ago I found all letters that were in the Spain subfolder were now combined with all other letters. EDIT: I made a demo-video here The resolution is not great, but in fullscreen-mode it's clear what I mean. they don't care.

Concentrate on getting all machines upgraded to Vista SP2 and Server 2008 SP2.It is not unusual for a large company to delay for years on these major updates. it seems like such a trivial thing - the double click should do the same as clicking the expand/collapse icon? *sigh* - glad to see other people are finding this annoying Why it doesn't find a file with a simple partial part of the file name? MS should tell us why they torture us with such a "jump" feature.

Instructions here. This apparently solved the problem until today: the subfolder Spain is now gone again and all letters are now combined in one folder. Why is that fault intended?

I keep it patched up to date.

I tested this several times... Please be patient with me, and ask for details if I am not stating my problem clearly. If I right click one of my drives (like C: ), the right click menu will come up, but when I click properties, the properties window won't come up ever. 5. Ya think....

or should I say.. Anything I type into the particular tab will not load. Now is there a way to restore something similar to the file and folder tasks there? Get More Info Unchecking the option will solve the problem, but it's a pretty pathetically sad workaround to something Microsoft has had properly working for years.

I saw something like this before and it was defaulting open to a location that no longer existed. Having my selected root folder jump out from underneath me and the treeview scroll in some unpredictable position is rather annoying.

hmm, why is there a M$ on my green and red and yellow pills? So what? It seems that it doesn't find partial matches and here: Search in Windows 8 brink suggest to set the folder options, but i don't have the partial matche s box Thanks AS someone wrote in this thred, "All they've done is add fluff and delete features that make all this intuitive and usable." Better move to a Linux system.

I think they really don't want us to user folders but only libraries. So far I've only noticed this with Computer, I can just press Documents from the start menu, and it instantly loads, and then click on the drive and go to where I don't even consider it a sort. I was not able to stop the problem behavior.

How about these............ Explorer? Also right click is freezing again.
