This was bugging me a lot. This Windows Explorer "bug" goes back to the days of Windows Vista, yet unfortunately remains a glaring annoyance in Windows 7 and Windows 8. Closing explorer and reopen explorer, browse to share on the XP machine and you see the same issue as described in the previous post. The more data there is in the folder, the longer it takes for it to get to the next one. It helps with huge folders and files with many files and dirs. I'm begining to be crazy with my download folder which loading really slowly.
