Can't Do A System Restore


I rely instead on free third party software for backups saved on an external disk. Safe Mode restart then an earlier restore worked for me. My Windows 7 System Restore just doesn't want to work! I can see advantages, because I think my backup system only backs up data, not the system (I want to check that).But what is the cost - in terms of speed have a peek here

Windows ME was so terrible that I ignored System Restore for years, even on newer operating systems. Basically insert your Operating System Installation disk, and once it starts the reinstallation process it should give you the option to do a windows repair, do it and try it, if If you want to be protected by System Restore, you should absolutely turn it on for at least your system drive. I have had to do this at least five times on three separate computers but it left my apps & files intact.
