This morning I was able to run a quasi complete scan and I found a virus, but I don't think it was a very dangerous one. There is plenty of free software that works just as well, if not better. Be more polite or you will build up a bad rep on Tom's.

The laptop I worked with would shut down EVERY time I did a virus scan with Norton 2002, 2003 or 2004... You could try using system restore to restore it back to the time before you got the virus. I went through Malwarebytes forum and tried TDS Killer,but it didnt help,so I guess my solution would be different. Just simply say "Search for " Program name" and whatever is necessary do with it and then go with the next step... spyware blaster found nothing so I tried to do an online scan with different virus scanners but same thing.

It will start up again OK, but if I try another scan it closes down. Please suggest steps as to what I should do.Should I need to reformat my whole PC?
