I did originally have a different mobo with triple channel, and so I got a set of three, RMAed it and returned the processor for the 2600K, but kept the memory. I can fire the machine up normally immediately afterwards with no issues, windows does not even say that it did not shut down properly when i restart the machine. From what I was able to find it appears that Steam had an update on the 23rd of January which has caused some problems. Works every time.
