It may be this, that is causing the issue. I could still see the cursor and Ctr+alt+delete still worked. Now when i try to load command prompt by hitting F8, the virus takes over. A.N.

I checked my video drivers using the automated search feature, and found out that my drivers were up to date.

Even moreso certain models. goodness!! You may need to upgrade more than the HD if you decide to upgrade to Win7, most likely your RAM most Win7 OS need at least 2GB of RAM to run More often than not, after I leave the BIOS screen it usually just goes to a black screen with a flashing cursor.

System Recovery Options Make a recovery disk... This is my first post here, so please let me know if you need additional details as I am not sure what is helpful. It gets to a certain point where there is a black screen, and won't continue to shut down.
