XP Has Stopped Hibernating


What's going on; is nobody monitoring this forum to make sure only things related to XP are posted here?Click to expand... Post a comment if you have one. Standby gets me down to almost nothing, Hibernate gets me to nothing. Before messing with battery and hard drives charge the laptop up fully, then in same 'state' i.e. have a peek here

PLease! IF that occurs and because hibernation is a frequent problem on our laptops, you may decide to turn off the ability to hibernate by accessing the Control Panel-Display icon-Screen Saver tab-Power Followed your advice after googling the prob and it worked!! After seeing some of the post on here I just knew I would never get it started back up.

Hibernation is enabled in Power Options, and the schedule is set to go to Standby after 45 min. Thanks for voting! For me nothing here helped.Then I got rid of everything out of the Start » Programs » Startup folder. Hibernation takes about 10 or 15 seconds to complete on my computer, and about 20 to resume, so it's not as snappy as Standby mode.I almost never shut down my computer. This is a little tricky, but if you aren't sure what a program does, Google it.

I read several hints on here and put a couple together. If you fall asleep you won't notice anything unusual! but most times says "Indexing is complete". I have found absolutely No good reason to switch to Vista yet.
