Help With Search Miracle Elitebar Please!

After we are finished with your log file and verified that it's clean, you may turn it back on and create a new restore point. Are there any problems now? SMB Member Topic Starter Member 66 posts Okay I will give that a try when time permits. You should not have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

I will take a look at it. 01-26-2005, 11:56 AM #3 attitude64 Registered Member Join Date: Jan 2005 Location: Ontario, Canada Posts: 2 OS: xp Thanks so much Several functions may not work. Then it removes it and asks if I want to do a full scan incase any components were left so I did that. I just don't want this plug in to ever install.

Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. Check each of the following and hit 'Fix checked' (after checking them) if they still exist (make sure not to miss any): R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch Please print out or copy this page to Notepad.

Select the following and click Kill process for each one if they are still listed (they shouldn't be - but double check it): C:\WINDOWS\System32\SndMon32.exe C:\WINDOWS\shch.exe C:\Program Files\Windows AdTools\WinAdTools.exe C:\Program Files\Windows AdTools\WinRatchet.exe Here are the logs: --------------------------------------------------------- ewido anti-malware - Scan report --------------------------------------------------------- + Created on: 9:06:17 PM, 12/31/2005 + Report-Checksum: E28116CC + Scan result: HKU\S-1-5-21-1216428615-992563049-4150758928-1007\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Explorer Bars\{BE8D0059-D24D-4919-B76F-99F4A2203647} -> Spyware.EliteBar : Cleaned without I think it's time to call in the experts. I tell it to get rid of it and it's gone as long as I don't shut down or log off.

I have used Adaware, Spybot, Spyware guard, spyware blaster, Norton, AVG and Trend Micro's Virus Checker. Save the log file and run KRC HijackThis Analyzer in the same folder to get the result.txt log. Go to Tools > Folder Options. SMB p.s.

When you click on 'All files and folders' on the left pane, click on the 'More advanced options' at the bottom. But there is a R1 proxy override which I am not too sure about. I also find it in my Ewido security Suite. Then I ran a quick EWIDO security suite scan and it caught two entires in my registry which pertain to the Search Miracle item.

Password vs. Also when I had gone back and reran the Ewido I let it catch the entries and would cancel the scan and reboot to see if the threat would show and annoying Search Miracle. Now click "Apply to all folders" Click "Apply" then "OK" Now find and delete this file: C:\windows\system32\winlfl32.exe Delete this folder: C:\WINDOWS\System32\windows Finally go to Control Panel > Internet Options.
