The lower/upper filters deletion did didley squat and the fixit tool diagnoses my DVD drive as not detected. The drives were still visible but would never ecognize data on the CD or DVD. I can't install programs or anything. Ridiculous. This being the case it is impossible to burn music cd's, let alone simply play music thru this Drive. Able to play video DVDs. Upper and Lower filters become corrupt for a number of reasons - usually software - and if you don't take care of THAT problem, the corrupted filters are apt to return.

Have tried removing the filters, have tried suggestions from dell…NOTHING WORKS. any suggestions? Thus, the FixIt thing does not work. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!
