Neither attempting to repair Windows, performing a scan and repair, or a complete reinstall worked. You have the choice of keeping settings, files and apps, or keeping nothing. So far Vista has been the biggest failure I've ever seen. this probably isn't the right answer, but it's definitely cheaper and faster than swapping out hardware (unless you have extras on hand, in which case lucky you!). this website

I had the same problems with Vista and Win7 on my desk-top PC's. Turns out it was a bad/corrupted file in one of my games that was freezing the defrag process. Please help!
