What’s The Best Free Blog-hosting Website?

I’m moving out of the country, and I have family and friends telling me I should start a blog. I don’t have one, and i’m not sure where to start. Are there any sites that host a blog for free? I don’t need a lot of features and gadgets, but just a reliable place to post stuff for people to read if they want to.

You may want to instead use http://twitter.com/ for microblogging (one to two line blogging). It also has more of a social interaction aspect with other twitter users.

Either google’s Blogspot.com (blogger) or WordPress.com would be great for what you want to do. In your case, if you already have a gmail account, Blogger may be better for you because there are a lot of built in features (like if you use Picasa for your photos) etc. Everything will be organized for you under your “my account” page when you sign into Gmail.
Today.com is one of the reliable blogging site. It’s free to have an account.
It’s very easy to blog there and at same time you can earn some extra money also.

For some reason, all the blogspot sites I have seen have been compromised. Stick with wordpress, or youtube comments.
