Wall Street is dominated by conservatives. Would the market be in as bad a shape if conservative talk show hosts weren’t spinning everything Obama does in the worst possible light? Who is really responsible for the fears investors have?

  1. CD says:

    Media……

  2. kck says:

    It’s the media.

  3. ATTENTION: Testicles That Is All says:

No. Wall Street doesn’t react to talk radio it reacts to economic policies.

  4. clean truck says:

no no no no no no no

  5. Ttown says:

I believe you are on to something Mr Obvious.

  6. IgnoranceIsYou says:

Not just their talk shows, but Conservatives in general who created the Bush Depression.

  7. Jimmy D says:

Wall street is dominated by people who want to make lots of money, not abortion protesters. The market is going down because future growth under Obama does not look promising.

  8. drummer_40 says:

I don’t know. It seems like their audience is mostly “Joe” the “Plumber” types or educated left wingers like me who listen for laughs. They’re mostly preaching to the choir, and their choir doesn’t seem like the high power investment type in general. Listen to their callers some time, “We have got to do something about this Muslim president!” Hilarious.

  9. Liberty or Death says:

    Well, let’s see…

The conservatives are predicting gloom and doom due to the stimulus, and Obama & liberals are predicting gloom and doom without the stimulus. The media is concerned with sensationalism in their reporting to attract viewers and readership.

The market is concerned with making money. It would not be in their best interests to intentionally sabotage the market to make a political point. History has demonstrated that massive deficit spending by government does more harm than good. The Congressional Budget Office determined that over the next 10 years, the stimulus bill would put our economy in a worse state than it is now due to the massive debt. Obama’s economic advisers admit to following the economic ideas of John Maynard Keynes that have been demonstrated to be virtually completely flawed under our system of free-market capitalism.

I leave it to you to decide who’s to blame.

  10. Tony H says:

Im beginning to think Liberals listen to conservative talk shows more than conservatives. Frankly I dont know anyone who can stand talk radio or anyone who has that much time to listen.

  11. Blubonic Plague says:

Obama is wanting to turn a whole new class of Americans to be dependent on the government. This will lead to more socialism. This is far worse than anybody talking on the radio.

  12. Ft215 says:

Every time Obama or geitner goes on tv the dow drops 200 points maybe he should do nothing.

  13. mebo says:

They react to economic policies and the doomsday talk of Obama. He needs to send a more positive message.

  14. milcollector says:

Obamas use of the word crisis, I think we could use more positive speeches.

  15. neuroticwilly says:

no, not even close! obama is wrecking consumer confidence! they don’t teach about intangibles at harvard law!

  16. American born and raised says:

EXACTLY! it is good to see someone with some intelligence around here.

Fear mongers like Rush Limbaugh Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck are getting rick off the fear of their minions.

It is getting out of hand and borders on treason. The American people are fed up with it!!!!

  17. question212 says:

No! Obama’s hope and change has turned to doom and gloom. Everytime I see him, he is yelling the sky is falling there is a chrisis! He is rushing through plans that he hasn’t even read and don’t know where they are going! What happened to his hope and change. Wall Street is down because he is calling for more taxes which hurts businesses!

  18. slither37 says:

    fears= democrats

  19. Robert S says:

    Popular media.

How can they be innocent of ANY of this? They are among the top two in my book, responsible for the whole mess.

  20. Pashur says:

White collar republicans on Wall Street are the problem especially those who are head or affiliate with big corporations. Conservative talk radio show wish they were the problem but they only hurting their parties and the elections to come like they did with this past one.

  21. Galen B says:

I am curious how you know Wall Street is dominated by conservatives? Are all the rich libs in the government? 8*)

The conservative talk show hosts are pointing out what they see wrong with the policies. (Just as did the liberal talk show hosts with Bush, though I think the conservatives are not so hate filled)

If you watch the market, it hates uncertainty. As they wait for a plan to be announced, the market hovers. When something comes out like nationalizing banks, it drops sharply.

If Obama comes out with a plan, the market will see what benefits and invest in that direction.

I should add, I am intelligent enough to pick up on the hyperbola, satire, and other entertainment from the hosts.

  22. smsmith500 says:

The talk show hosts do not make the decisions on Wall Street. When did Obama last tell us how great things were going? You talk the economy down and guess what people react.

  23. frackusworm says:

That’s an interesting way to look at it.
But that assumes the talk show guys are wrong, that Wall St. listens, ..

But ya know,- having that fiscal responsibility get together tells me he thinks we are stupid. THAT worries me more.

  24. Heidi says:

Probably. They are so negative. It’s all about doom and gloom with them. Saying no. It’s not going to work etc. etc. Fear mongering and praying that President Obama will fail. @~
